Bauer, with a 200-year history, is one of the longest-lasting companies in the world. Starting from humble beginnings as a coppersmith's shop, within a century, Bauer had diversified into plumbing work, well sinking and waterline construction. Today, Bauer is a recognised specialist foundation business engaged in a multitude of construction projects world-wide. Bauer is now divided into three major divisions: engineering and contracting, equipment manufacture and resources. Bauer has 42 branches throughout the world in 29 countries, and is accredited with all types of foundation specialist works, slope stabilisation methods and ground water regulation. Branch offices are in Thailand, Indonesia, Taiwan, Singapore, Japan, Hong Kong, Philippines, Australia, Vietnam and China. Bauer (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd was established in 1984. The Malaysian experience has largely been targeted at bored pile foundations, retaining structures such as bored pile walls, diaphragm walls and soil improvement. As Malaysia's geological composition differs, new methods have been created specifically to overcome the difficult limestone, granite conditions for large diameter piles and the soft clay conditions for ground improvement in this region.
